Course tutor: Simon Swanston
Simon is a fully trained LinSig, Transyt, Arcady, Picady and Paramics modeller, able to scope, execute and report on traffic control modelling work associated with either isolated or linked signal control networks. He has personally trained for three years in this work under the direct tutelage of Barbara Chard (BCC) and Brian Simmonite (JCT). Accordingly, he now has a proven ability to apply the above software in the most appropriate manner to both develop realistic and achievable design options, and then to evaluate and report the results. Simon has recently acquired Senior Engineer status and is daily demonstrating his ability in the modelling of difficult junction scenarios. He is also acquiring a growing reputation in the auditing of Traffic Impact submissions for various UK Local Authorities. Simon recently presented a paper on the Barbara Chard Consultancy innovative design of Bardills roundabout, Nottingham at the Paramics user group meeting. This design work was carried out in association with the Scott Wilson Consultancy, and recently won a high commendation from the East Midllands branch of the Institute of Civil Engineers.
