We are constantly improving LinSig adding new features to the existing version as well as working on future versions. All bug fixes and minor feature upgrades to the current version are free of charge to users with Software Support. Users with Software Support will also be eligible for discounts on major new versions of LinSig.

Version History

Although we recommend always having the latest version of LinSig installed sometimes a new version updates only minor features or features which are only relevant to some users. The Version History page provides details of what has been added or changed in each version of LinSig.

Obtaining the Latest Version of LinSig

The latest installation package of LinSig (version 2.4.18.0) can be downloaded by clicking on the 'Download' button above. The installation package can be used to both install a new installation or to update an old copy of LinSigV2 as described below.


Installing a New LinSig Installation

To install a fresh installation of LinSig:

  1. Extract the update file LinSigV2xxxx.exe from the downloaded file using your unzipping utility.
  2. Double Click on the LinSigV2xxxx.exe file in the location you saved it to above.
  3. Follow the on screen prompts to update LinSig.
  4. After installation is complete open LinSig and check that the version number using 'About LinSig...' from the LinSig Help menu, to ensure that the new version has installed correctly.

If LinSig is being installed for the first time on a computer you must activate the software to provide full functionality. If LinSig is not activated it will function as a Demonstration Copy. To activate LinSig for non-Network Licences:

  1. Start LinSig V2 from the Windows Start menu. LinSig will display the 'Choose Activation Method' dialog box.
  2. For a non-Network Licence choose '1PC, 4PC or 10PC Licences'.
  3. Enter your Licence ID (for example LJCT11) and other information and click 'Continue'.
  4. LinSig will provide you with an Installation ID. Follow the onscreen instructions or just click the blue activation@jctconsultancy.co.uk email link to generate an email containing the required Installation ID details, to send to JCT. Email this to JCT who will provide a matching Activation code by return.
  5. Enter the returned Activation Code into the 'Activate' dialog box and click continue.
  6. LinSig is now activated for full functionality.
  7. If you ever need to change or update your Activation the 'Activate LinSig' dialog box is available from the LinSig 'Help' menu.

More detailed information on installation and activation, including more complex situations such as Network Licences, is provided in the LinSig User Guide included in PDF format in the LinSig installation package, and available from the LinSig 'Help' menu by choosing 'About LinSig and Activation'.


Updating an Existing Copy of LinSig V2

An existing version of LinSigV2 can be updated as follows:

  1. Extract the update file LinSigV2xxxx.exe from the downloaded file using your unzipping utility.
  2. Double Click on the LinSigV2xxxx.exe file in the location you saved it to above.
  3. Follow the on screen prompts to update LinSig.
  4. After installation is complete open LinSig and check that the version number using 'About LinSig...' from the LinSig Help menu, to ensure that the new version has installed correctly.

Please note that:

  • Each update includes all previous updates and only the latest update needs to be installed.
  • After installing the update existing activated copies of LinSig do not normally require reactivating.
