Transport Planning for Developments

Who should attend.

Transport Planners, Development Managers, Traffic Engineers who wish to broaden their experience.


Prerequisites.

The course will start at a basic level so no prior knowledge is required.


Course content.

The course is comprehensive, covering as many elements of Transport Planning for Developments as possible in 2 days. The topics are taught a series of lectures comprising:

- Legislation, Policy and Guidance

- Transport Assessments / Transport Statements

- Surveys / Data Collection

- Access Issues

- Trip Generation / Assignment / Distribution (including TRICS & TEMPRO)

- Travel Plans

- Junction and network modelling (selecting the most appropriate model)

- Overview of junction design

- Safety Audit of highway and development schemes

- S278 Highway Works

- Highway Works Agreements


Accreditation.

All JCT courses are “Approved” or are pending “Approval” by the Institute of Highway Engineers and attendance is therefore recognised by the IHE and many other bodies as evidence of Continual Professional Development (CPD).

Courses are managed under a ISO9001 Quality Management System.
